About the time Daniel Craig is due to bust heads open in Spectre, 007 will be getting the graphic novel treatment in a story called VARGR, to be penned by Warren Ellis and inked by Jason Masters (Wolverines, Batwoman).
The series is official, with the Fleming estate authorising Dynamite Entertainment to produce a series of story arcs, one of them an origin story. But not this one. VARGR finds Bond returned from a vengeance mission in Helsinki to be stalked through London by STASI agents. Or at least I'm assuming they're STASI, given the plot originates in East Berlin.
Guess we'll find out.
Ellis is promising to a deep dive into Bond's damaged nature, which is a big part of the books, but plays little role in the films.
