Underhand, sneaky, illegal, criminal, tax evading, tax avoiding, filthy rich parasites. These are just some of the epithets that come to mind when I read reports in the mainstream media about the activities of the 14000 clients of Panama headquartered company Mossack Fonseca and the 220,000 shell companies it has set up for them.
The United Patriot Front unveiled a racist and Islamophobic banner in the Australian Rules football game on Friday night between Collingwood and Richmond.
This is the link to my 6 minute interview with Philip Clark on ABC Canberra radio on 1 April about the plan by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to give the States and Territories the capacity to levy up to 2% tax on individual income. It starts at 1 hour 44 minutes in.
Secret polling by the A.C.T. Liberals shows that their A.C.T. Senator, Zed Sezelja, could lose his safe Senate seat.
The A.C.T. has two Senate seats. The quota for election is thus 33.3%, a quota the Liberals have achieved each election either in their own right or with preference flows.
Australia first had Commonwealth and State income taxes in 1915. It is a special type of conservative leader who can propose taking us back a century and claim it is a visionary policy, something for the future. It is nothing of the sort.
Philip Clark, presenter on Canberra and region ABC Radio, 666, will interview me on Friday morning at 7.15 am about the Turnbull government’s proposal to give the States and Territories the ability to impose income tax or set rates. The details of the proposal are not yet clear.

Climate change is destroying it. The National Coral Bleaching Taskforce recently undertook an aerial survey of the northern part of the Reef.
These are caught moments I wrote in my small notebooks. I will add to them in separate posts over time before bringing them together in one post.
Will no one sing my songs?
Will no one sing my songs
Put music to the word

On being unfree
I wrote this back in October. It remains relevant still.
Our bombs are love
Our bombs are the bombs of your freedom
Raining down our reign
On all, the children, women, men,
Enjoy our freedom in your grave
With your missing body parts
This is our art
Their bombs are the enemy of freedom
Raining hate upon your land
Sowing cemeteries so you understand
The difference in the dead and maimed
