To his rest goes Captain Roberts

Another old boy of the Bletchley Park Codebreakers passed away this week, Captain Raymond 'Jerry' Roberts, who helped break Hitler's personal code, the one used to relay messages between the Maximum Nazi and his High Command. The 'computer' the code breakers developed to do this used four times as many wheels as the more famous Enigma machine. It was credited with shortening the war by up to two years.

Sullivans Cove beat out all comers at the World Whiskies Award last week, walking off with the big plastic drunken Sctosman statue for Best SIngle Malt.

I've said some cruel and unusual things about soccer over the years. This all came back to bite me on the groin late Saturday afternoon when I had to pull on the boots for the Corporate XI against the Premier's XI. The event was a charity football match organised by Brisbane Airport Corporation at Suncorp Stadium before the final, won by Brisbane Roar.

Been pondering a post on the most Gen X song ever. This isn't that post. But it's close and it came up during the research. I found this cool one-woman band via Esquire, of all places. Maybe it's just the bottle of cheap proscesso I drank, but this may be the coolest thing ever. Or at least tonight.
