Articles from THE BLOT REPORT
Some idiots have demonstrated their ignorance about the Covid-19 pandemic in stating that because there are fewer deaths in the current outbreaks, then the Delta variant has a lower mortality rate. The only time you can determine the death rate is after the event, or if you look at the number of deaths today and compare that with the number of cases in the past. That is because there is a lag time between infection of a person and their possible death from the virus.
When Victoria went into lockdown to defeat its devastating second wave of Covid-19 infection late in 2020, all sorts of Liberal politicians both state and federal belted them for their actions. The fact that Victorian state politicians did so is understandable, given they are trying to desperately make an impression, any sort of impression, after buggering up their campaign in the most recent state election1.
The verminous James Morrow, one of the three stooges on Sky After Dark’s Outsiders menagerie of stupidity and gullibility1,2, has really claimed a new nadir of Murdoch bastardry, and this bastardry has been so clearly in evidence during this pandemic. Morrow has done a hatchet job on Dr Norman Swan, Professor Bill Bowtell, Dr Jeannette Young, Professor Raina MacIntyre, and Professor Nicola Spurrier.
I saw a ‘discussion’ between online fruitcakes in which some bloke said that numerology was simply geometry, and that the numerals we use are somehow dependent on the number of angles in the written numeral. To make his point he mostly had to use bizarrely written numerals.
When Gladys Berejiklian lied about nobody beating the Delta variant before, some people pointed this out well before I did. Unfortunately, nobody in the media scrum at the time did1. This is symptomatic of the lack of ability of so many journalists in Australia. As if to emphasise the incapability of those who call themselves journalists, Neil Mitchell has now raised this inability to a level that beggars belief.
During Sydney’s belated and half-hearted lockdown in response to this current outbreak of the Delta variant of Covid-19, Premier of New South Wales, Gladys Berejiklian said on July 22: “I don’t think everybody appreciates how contagious this strain is and how different it is from past strains”1. Just about everybody with a modicum of intelligence and an ability to read or hear the news has known that the Delta strain is very much more transmissible than previous strains.
