BludgerTrack: 52.0-48.0 to Labor

The only new poll this week was the usual fortnightly rolling average result from Essential Research, which moved a point in favour of the Coalition on two-party preferrred, leaving Labor’s lead at 51-49. On the primary vote, the Coalition was up one to 40%, Labor steady on 36%, the Greens down one to 8%, Pauline Hanson’s One Nation steady at 6% and the Nick Xenophon Team steady at 3%.

Presidential election tracker: Clinton 47.8, Trump 43.7

I’ll be making updates of my presidential election poll tracker a regular Tuesday thing from now until the big day on November 8, five weeks from today. The last week of movement captures Hillary Clinton’s bounce from the debate and the residue of Donald Trump’s erratic form in its wake, with Clinton up from 46.0% to 47.8% and Trump down from 45.0% to 43.7%.

Newspoll: 51-49 to Coalition in New South Wales

The Australian has published the first Newspoll result of New South Wales state voting intention to emerge since the start of the year, in which will hopefully be the first of many state results over the week to come. This one finds the Coalition government retaining a 51-49 lead over the August-September period, compared with 56-44 in November-December last year. On the primary vote, the Coalition is down six points to 42%, Labor is up three to 36% and the Greens are up one to 11%.
